Dusty Rose Crinkle Scarf

The dusty rose scarf...all ready for spring. Cute crinkled satin material and 'rose' pin. Very spring, very soft, very pretty. ; ) I made this from a very special piece of material found at the fabric store in one of our last 'scrounging' episodes. My daughter and I love going through the heaps of discarded/remenant cloth at Joanne's or Hancock's and making something outa nothing.
Yes, the photo is blurry, but I'm ok with that. It was taken by my daughter, she is 5, and I know the detail is off a bit...but I thought she captured this shot so well. One of these days, I'll get a model. I have one in the mix, just need to put a few new scarves, totes or whatever it is that draws my eye. And they will be clear shots, beautiful shots. But these are prescious to me....

One last shot, up close and personal. The pin, as you can see has glass and seed beads in the center. They are clear, gold and olive green in color. I love how the pin allows the wearer to change the look of the simple scarf. It can be turned into a cowl...be long and drapy or classic. Super!
If you'd like to see more of this scarf and other items that we've made, please check out Sugar Pine Boutique, on Etsy.

Hot Pink Damask/Batik/Tribal Tote

Here's the Custom tote I've been working on, the material from the last post. Just the right size for a water bottle, wallet, keys and maybe a little reading material.

It has slinky material on the inside and hot pink/white/black stellar pattern on the front.

A snap closure helps it all stay securely together.

For your own, just visit my shop!

Stay tuned for the next one..... ; )

So Chic--Mommy and Me

This is the Mommy-and-Me Set.

Three Purses made in pale olive green linen fabric with blue, yellow, and brown paisley's. These were all made by me, with my own patterns.  Mommy's purse has a snap closure and pockets for organizing. The strap on the large purse is made of a recycled belt, buckle and all (super adjustable) and the small purses have coordinating fabric that make up their straps. All are lined with a dark, chocolate brown fabric with swirls.

My sister wanted a unique gift for a good friend of hers, so we decided that it would be adorable to make a set for this mom and her two daughters.

There is absolutely more where this came from. So if you'd like to make an order, I'd be happy to fill it! ; ) Just visit my site and I'll get stictchin' for Christmas.

The Secret is Out!

I've been waiting until after my sister's birthday to post one of my most recent creations...I couldn't possibly post before in fear that she'd see it before the big day!

This is an over-the-shoulder sling bag made from my own pattern. The material is a finely ribbed corduroy with a print that reminds me of  designs I saw while traveling in Maui. The colors used would go great with jeans or khaki's, a couple of my sister's normal stand-by's.

It has a 'belt' type strap that makes it very adjustable for the wearer. The purse also has leather accents on the straps that I found particularly attractive. I double-stitched where the straps meet the purse for extra strength, no small feat for my sewing machine!

It is fully lined with a coordinating fabric and sports three inside pockets, one sporting velcro for trapping those pesky keys. A snap insures it will stay closed, even while swinging most energetically as my sister goes about her business.
I have just enough fabric to make one more of these puppies, so be prepared to see one soon on my Etsy site!
Thanks again for stopping by.
